The Castle on the Edge of the World

Standing on the cliffs of North Berwick, Tantallon Castle feels like something out of a dream — or a nightmare. The sea crashes below like distant thunder, and the wind moans through the ruined windows. Visiting at sunset in October, I felt the place come alive. The red sandstone walls glowed like embers, and gulls screamed overhead. It’s easy to imagine ghostly sentries still pacing the battlements. There’s no manufactured Halloween event here — just raw, ancient atmosphere. The land itself feels haunted. #hellohalloween
