The Laughter in the Tower

They say that during storms, laughter can sometimes be heard from the highest tower. I visited on a blustery Halloween afternoon and decided to test that legend. Climbing the spiral stair, I could hear the wind shrieking and whistling through every gap. At the top, the sound changed — not laughter exactly, but a strange, high note that almost sounded human. I stood there for minutes, heart pounding, smiling to myself. Ghost or not, Tantallon knows how to perform.
