🌊 Nyudozaki, Akita
Located at the northernmost tip of Akita Prefecture's Oga Peninsula, Nyudozaki is a magnificent cape jutting out into the Sea of Japan. Its iconic features include a straight, grassy plain and a beautiful two-tone black-and-white lighthouse. On clear days, the area offers a stunning view stretching all the way to the horizon, making it a popular sunset spot.
Walking through the windswept grasslands and gazing out at the rugged coastline and the rugged Sea of Japan creates a majestic feeling, like you've reached the end of the earth. There's also a somewhat mystical atmosphere, befitting Oga, home to the legend of Namahage.
The area around the cape is also home to restaurants serving the area's famous "ishiyaki" (stone-grilled cuisine) and seafood, making it a great place to enjoy both sightseeing and gourmet food.
