Seto Inland Sea Bike Tour

DAY 42: Bike Travel Day
After a three-day, two-night trip to Okayama, today we continued to ride our bikes along National Highway 2 to Onomichi City. This city is located at the starting point of the Shimanami Kaido and is also one of the favorite cities of a YouTuber, Lao Song. The youth hostel we stayed in tonight is a traditional Japanese-style old house with a view of the Seto Inland Sea as soon as we opened the door. Since today is a travel day, let’s share the scenery during the ride!
Onomichi is famous for its many temples, and there is also a temple tour trail. Just walk along the cobblestone alleys that undulate and crisscross the hills of Onomichi, and you can visit all 25 temples. There are many bicycle rental shops and ferry stations in the city of Onomichi. There is a ferry to Mukaishima every 5-10 minutes, and the ticket price is very cheap. The Shimanami Kaido connects Onomichi City and Imabari City, with a total length of about 70 kilometers. It is one of the most famous and most stunning bicycle routes in Japan. The Shimanami Kaido spans six islands and can be completed in one day while enjoying the sea view.
Because my destination is Hiroshima, I will spend the night in Onomichi today before returning to Onomichi to start this cycling record of the Shimanami Kaido.
