Hello! This time, I will introduce some recommended gourmet spots that I actually tried in Onomichi, Hiroshima.
From fresh seafood that can only be found in a port town, local ramen, exquisite sweets, and authentic Hiroshima-yaki, there are many famous restaurants that gourmets should visit at least once!
1. [Onomichi Ramen] A popular restaurant loved by locals, "Onomichi Ramen Hajime"
When you think of Onomichi, you think of Onomichi ramen!
The "Onomichi Ramen Hajime" that I visited has an exquisite soy sauce soup with the flavor of seafood and the richness of back fat. It has a strong flavor, but a clean aftertaste. It goes well with the medium-thick noodles, and I finished it in no time. I can see why it is loved by people of all ages and genders.
2. [Sweets] Relaxing cheesecake time at "Cheesecake Specialty Store Yamaneko"
A soothing cafe that I came across halfway up the slope, "Cheesecake Specialty Store Yamaneko".
The signature baked cheesecake is moist and smooth, and the rum raisin flavor I ordered had a rich, elegant taste with a light aroma of liquor.
I was able to take a break in the quiet restaurant and enjoy my time in Onomichi.
3. [Hiroshima Yaki & Small Dishes] Enjoy Teppanyaki at "Teppan Sharaku Sanshin"
The perfect dinner spot was the teppanyaki izakaya "Teppan Sharaku Sanshin".
The piping hot Hiroshima Yaki was a perfect balance of plenty of cabbage, soba noodles, and sweet and spicy sauce. Apparently, in Onomichi, they even add gizzards to the ingredients! The unique texture of the gizzards was addictive and amazing! ... "Onomichi Ramen Ichi" with its addictive seafood aroma
"Yamaneko" cheesecake with its gentle sweetness
"Teppan Sharaku Sanshin" where you can get drunk on the aroma of hotplates and local sake
Onomichi is a city where you can enjoy both food tours and relaxing evenings.
Please visit it to get ideas for your gourmet trip!
