Wang Boqun's former residence, located on the west side of Huguo Road in Nanming District, Guiyang, is a distinctive French-style building built in 1917. It is a brick-and-wood structure covering 1,600 square meters. From the outside, it appears to be composed of a rectangular main building and a cylindrical watchtower.
Although built in French style, Wang Boqun's former residence is still influenced by traditional decorative techniques, representing a fusion of Chinese and Western architectural cultures. As an important modern historical site, Wang Boqun's former residence is now a provincial-level cultural relic protection unit.
The main building is seven bays wide, two stories high, and surrounded by corridors. A hip roof is added to one corner of the flat roof, a classic fusion of Chinese and Western styles. The steps downstairs are divided into two groups: the lower level features a Ruyi-shaped step, while the upper level features a hanging ribbon step. The white plaster sculptures on the brick columns resemble cabbages, a stark contrast to Western figural sculptures.
