[Uehommachi, Osaka] A famous Cantonese restaurant known only to those in the know: New Chinese Cuisine Huanglong

I went to the Chinese and Cantonese restaurant "New Chinese Cuisine Huanglong" in Uehonmachi, Osaka.

This is a hideaway restaurant with 6 counter seats and 1 table seating for up to 12 people. You can enjoy Chinese cuisine with a monthly course. Lunch is by reservation.

You can discuss dishes according to your budget, so I enjoyed a menu that included mapo tofu with my friends.

■Appetizer
・Chinese spiced cashew nuts

■Horse meal
・Whelk shell simmered in garlic and soy sauce
・Sakura shrimp and rape blossoms boiled in premium broth
・Firefly squid with scallion sauce
・Fried radish mochi with spices
・Fried eggplant in XO sauce and butterbur buds with miso
The radish mochi is crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, and the sweet and fragrant spices are exquisite.

■Fukien seaweed and whelk premium broth soup
A gentle-tasting soup that lets you feel the deliciousness of the ingredients. You can enjoy the umami of the soft whelk and the flavor of Fujian seaweed.

■Shrimp and apple sour sauce
A rich sauce with a slight sourness. It has a taste similar to shrimp mayonnaise.

■Roast food platter
・Grilled pork with sauce
・Crispy pork
・Minced pork, squid ink, and chicken liver sausage
・Boiled peanuts
Among them, the crispy pork has a crispy skin and a very fragrant flavor, and the seasoning penetrates deep into the meat.

■Mapo tofu and jasmine rice
A delicious Sichuan-style mapo tofu with the numbing flavor of Japanese pepper. It has a concentrated umami and spiciness, and goes perfectly with jasmine rice.

■Dessert

Among them, the brown sugar pecan nuts have a caramelized texture and the sweetness of the nuts and brown sugar.

All the dishes are delicious, not only in terms of flavor and texture, but also with a touch of the eye. I would like to come back again and enjoy the food at my leisure.
