#Osaka Attractions
Dotonbori originated in the early Edo period, when it took shape due to the generous investment of Yasui Doton and the dredging of the river. After that, according to the shogunate's planning, the southern end of Dotonbori gradually became a gathering place for Osaka's small theaters, attracting people to come and enjoy performances, which in turn prospered the catering industry and became Japan's most prestigious food street. Its unofficial mascot, the Glico Man logo, has become a landmark with its distinctive blue racetrack neon sign hanging high above the Dotonbori Bridge. Here, you can not only taste authentic Osaka snacks such as takoyaki, okonomiyaki, and fried skewers, but also try crab dishes, Japanese and international cuisines, and enjoy a food journey in one stop.
