Namba Yasaka Shrine: The Unique Lion Hall

Namba Yasaka Shrine is located in Naniwa Ward, Osaka City, about a 5-minute walk from Namba Station and close to Shinsaibashi Shopping Street. It is said that visiting the shrine can ward off evil, prevent epidemics, bring good relationships, and ensure safe childbirth. The most famous feature of Namba Shrine is the large Lion Hall located at the front of the shrine grounds. At the shrine office next to the main hall, you can purchase exclusive lion head amulets from Namba Yasaka Shrine, which can be taken home as souvenirs or gifts. These are very representative, and many people also write ema (wooden plaques) to pray and make wishes. The area of Namba Yasaka Shrine is not very large, and including taking photos, you can stay for about 20 to 30 minutes.
