Shadows Among the Clouds: The Nature and Serenity of Mount Rokko

Day 1
With the gentle morning light, I set off on my journey to Mount Rokko. Taking the cable car slowly upward, I overlooked the city and sea at the foot of the mountain. The view gradually opened up, as if entering another world. Upon reaching the summit, I first headed to Rokko Mountain Ranch, where the lush green grass and leisurely cows and sheep resembled a tranquil pastoral painting. I fed the lambs by hand, feeling their warm touch, then tasted the ranch’s homemade fresh milk ice cream, with its rich creamy flavor lingering on my tongue. In the afternoon, I strolled through Rokko Garden, where the fragrance of flowers and plants wafted in the breeze, making every spot a perfect photo opportunity. As the sun set, I went to the Rokko Mountain Observatory to await nightfall. When the lights of Osaka and Kobe twinkled below, the entire scene sparkled like jewels, breathtaking and unforgettable.
Day 2
The next morning, I chose to explore the natural trails of Mount Rokko. The air in the forest was fresh, with the calls of crows echoing, accompanying the rhythm of my footsteps, as if playing a natural symphony. After reaching the highest point of Mount Rokko, the view was even more magnificent, with Osaka Bay shimmering under the sunlight in the distance. Then, I visited the Rokko Music Box Museum, which houses many antique music boxes. Listening to their melodies made me feel relaxed and joyful. At noon, I enjoyed a light meal at the museum’s garden café, with sunlight warming me, as if blending with nature itself. In the afternoon, I returned to the foot of the mountain and made a special stop at Kobe Port to admire the modern architecture by the harbor and the seamless blend of sea and sky, perfectly concluding this trip.
