Day 1:
The gentle morning sunlight pours down as we set off from downtown Osaka toward Tennoji Park in the southern part of the city. As Osaka’s oldest park, it boasts not only a rich history but also a blend of natural and cultural charm. Upon entering the park, our eyes are immediately drawn to the vast green spaces and blooming flowers. Following the stone path, we arrive at the park’s heart—the traditionally styled “Keitakuen Garden,” a strolling pond garden that feels like a journey back in time. The water reflects the blue sky and red bridge, koi fish swim leisurely, and the surroundings are adorned with neatly trimmed pine trees and flowers. After a short rest, we continue to Tennoji Zoo, home to over 300 species of animals, from adorable penguins to majestic lions, captivating us endlessly. In the afternoon, we visit Shitennoji Temple, a historic Buddhist temple with a solemn atmosphere and architecture full of traditional Japanese beauty. Finally, we choose to enjoy Japanese matcha desserts at an open-air café within the park, savoring a peaceful afternoon. After a full day, we return to our hotel in the Tennoji area, experiencing Osaka by night—brightly lit yet warmly inviting.
Day 2:
On the second day, we return to Tennoji Park, ready to explore more hidden gems. The park is tranquil and charming in the morning. We head to the Osaka Municipal Museum of Art, located within the park, which houses a rich collection including traditional Japanese paintings and modern artworks, offering a profound cultural experience. After admiring the art, we move on to the park’s playground area, filled with many child-friendly facilities and the sound of laughter all around. Next, we visit the Chausuyama Kofun, one of Osaka’s oldest keyhole-shaped burial mounds. From the hilltop, there is a wide-open view overlooking the surrounding cityscape.
