Review of traveling in Osaka, Japan:
The city of smiles, delicious food, and charm in every corner!
Hello everyone! Today, Boom will take you on a trip to Osaka, a lovely city in Japan full of fun, delicious food, and stunning attractions that will make you say wow! If you're thinking about traveling to Japan but don't know where to start, I highly recommend Osaka. This city has it all—culture, modernity, and warm-hearted people. Plus, it's super easy to get around.
⸻
Arrived in Osaka, yay! Starting at Dotonbori
After a long flight to Kansai International Airport, I was so excited to stroll around Dotonbori, Osaka’s famous food street that everyone must visit. Don’t forget to check in and take photos with the giant Glico Man neon sign, which is a symbol of this city.
Walking into Dotonbori, my eyes were dazzled by the countless restaurants lining both sides of the street, neon lights shining brightly, and the nighttime view was truly breathtaking. Most importantly, the food here is unbelievably delicious! I had hot, round takoyaki filled with chewy squid, topped with sweet sauce and mayonnaise. It was so good that I ordered several more servings. There are also sushi, ramen, and plenty of snacks, making it fun to eat while walking around. The atmosphere is super cute too.

The next day: Exploring Osaka Castle and Sakura Garden
The next morning, I woke up early to visit Osaka Castle, famous for its beauty and rich history. Around the castle, there’s a garden full of cherry blossom trees blooming beautifully in spring.
Walking around the castle built with alternating stone and wood, I felt like I had traveled back to the samurai era. At the top of the castle, there’s a 360-degree observation deck with stunning views of Osaka city. The view was so beautiful that I stopped to take dozens of photos. The surrounding atmosphere was wonderful—shady, with birds singing and the scent of flowers. The air was so fresh.

Fun time at Universal Studios Japan
If you love amusement parks, I highly recommend not missing Universal Studios Japan (USJ)! This movie-themed park has tons of fun rides.
I visited the Harry Potter World zone, which looks exactly like in the movies. Wearing a wizard’s robe, I strolled through Hogsmeade village and even tried the sweet, frothy Butterbeer, unlike anything else. It made me feel like a real wizard.
There are also rides like Jurassic Park, Minions, and many more. I played until I was exhausted but had so much fun—it was worth every minute.
⸻
A perfect shopping day at Shinsaibashi and Nipponbashi districts
On a chill day, I chose to walk around Shinsaibashi, a lively shopping district full of fashion stores, cosmetics, and lots of cute items.
I tried on a sweet pink kimono and walked through a small alley with an old Japanese vibe, feeling like I had traveled back to the Edo period.
After that, I headed to Nipponbashi, also known as “Den Den Town.” This area is a hub for electronics and cool collectibles. Anime and Japanese toy fans will definitely love it.
⸻
Kuromon Market, a paradise for seafood lovers
If you love fresh seafood, don’t miss Kuromon Ichiba Market. It’s a fresh market with fish, shrimp, crab, and other seafood that’s fresh every day.
I tasted big, sweet grilled shrimp, meaty crab, and freshly made large sushi pieces that made my mouth water nonstop.
There are also cute Japanese sweets like mochi and kinpira-style desserts to try. Walking through this market felt like eating authentic Japanese food that you must not miss.
⸻
Ending with delicious ramen and nighttime atmosphere
On the last night, I chose to eat ramen at a small hidden shop in a narrow alley. The cozy atmosphere felt like home. The rich broth, chewy noodles, and juicy chashu pork made me feel so warm inside.
After dinner, I strolled around Namba district, filled with beautiful neon lights, lively atmosphere, laughter, and chatter. I truly felt that this place is the “heart of Osaka.”
⸻
Summary of impressions
Osaka is a charming and vibrant city with warm people, delicious food, and diverse attractions. I felt like I made new friends everywhere I went. It was a fun trip and a genuine cultural experience of Japan.
For anyone planning a trip to Japan, I highly recommend Osaka. I’m sure you’ll fall in love with this city just like I did!
