[Tenma, Osaka] Bite into delicious crispy chicken skin ✨

When visiting Osaka, if you only linger around large department stores and brand streets, you will miss the gentlest pulse of the city. Tenjinbashisuji Shopping Street next to Osaka Tenmangu Shrine is known as Japan’s longest shopping street, stretching over two kilometers. It was the most delightful part of my trip to stroll through. Here, you’ll find old-fashioned coffee shops, second-hand kimono stores, artisan knife shops, and Showa-era style general stores—each step feels like flipping through Osaka’s daily life diary.
I especially loved a certain old shop that only sells handmade Japanese steamed buns; the long line is well worth the wait. The atmosphere of the shopping street is friendly and genuine, and prices are much more affordable than department stores, making it perfect for buying local products or finding practical souvenirs. Rain or shine, this street is always lively, cheerful, and full of local flavor—a shopping spot you absolutely cannot miss if you want to experience everyday Osaka.
