📝 Basic Overview

📍 Women’s Pavilion in collaboration with Cartier

One of the domestic pavilions at the Osaka/Kansai Expo, it is the only women-only exhibition hall themed around gender equality and women's social contributions. It is realized through joint management by Cartier, the Cabinet Office, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, and the Japan Expo Association.

The concept is "When women thrive, humanity thrives."

🏛 Architecture and Design

The architecture was designed by Japanese architect Yuko Nagayama, reusing the **"Kumiko structure facade"** from the Japan Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai. The iconic element of the Japan Pavilion is given new life and passed on to Osaka.

The exterior wall features a triangular panel structure inspired by KUMIKO. It responds to wind and light, creating a soft facade of light and shadow.

🎨 Exhibits and Experience

The curator is British artist Es Devlin. The exhibition is an immersive art experience based on the personal experiences of women from around the world.

Featured women: novelist Banana Yoshimoto, Sudanese poet and activist Emi Mahmoud, and climate change activist Xiye Bastida, whose stories are expressed through video and sound. Visitors are encouraged to participate and are invited into a dialogue space.

The exhibition is composed of three visions: "Living Together," "Shining Together," and "Towards the Future," creating a space to imagine a future of diversity and harmony.
