[Hokkaido] Otaru Canal Sightseeing

This time I will introduce the Otaru Canal in Otaru City, Hokkaido.

It is about a 10-minute walk from JR Otaru Station on the Otaru Canal Ring Road.
It is easy to get there, but a little difficult to get back, as you have to go down a gentle slope. Electric-assisted bicycles are available for rental around the station, so it might be a good idea to use them to go sightseeing.

You can also take a cruise ship at the Otaru Canal.
It seems that the night cruise is particularly popular, as it allows you to tour the illuminated canal, so it's a good idea to make a reservation.
We walked around the canal.
The canal itself was lovely, with a different atmosphere during the day and at night.
The shops around the canal also had a nice, calm atmosphere.
Otaru can be reached from Sapporo without changing trains on the JR line, so it might be a good idea to go a little further when sightseeing in Hokkaido. We also went sightseeing in Sapporo and Otaru as a set.
