This is the first shrine in Kumamoto Prefecture to be designated a national treasure.
The thatched tower gate and worship hall, which are also designated as national treasures, were very beautiful.
The shrine is still undergoing restoration work after the flooding caused by the Kyushu heavy rains in 2020, but it is a wonderful shrine and I would like to visit again.
It is located about a 5-minute walk from Hitoyoshi Station, making it easy to visit.
