Lake Biwa in Shiga Prefecture is the largest lake in Japan and one of the three largest lakes in Japan. The Lake Biwa Observation Deck is located on the top of Mount Hiei in the north of Lake Biwa, 1,174 meters above sea level. It is the best place to overlook the panoramic view of Lake Biwa.
The Lake Biwa Observation Deck is divided into two parts, "The Main" and "Café 360". "The Main" is the main observation deck, where you can enjoy a 360-degree view of Lake Biwa. On a clear day, you can see Kyoto and Osaka in the distance.
"Café 360" is a cafe located next to "The Main". In addition to enjoying food and coffee, you can also enjoy the beautiful scenery of Lake Biwa from the 360-degree glass windows.
The Lake Biwa Observation Deck is open all year round, with summer being the busiest season for tourists, when you can enjoy the rippling blue waves of Lake Biwa. In winter, Lake Biwa will be covered with snow, like a silver world, which is also a sight worth seeing.
