Eneiji Temple, Mount Hiei

I drove into Mt. Hiei two days ago - a great experience, smooth mountain roads, and occasional beautiful red leaves along the way. The Enryakuji Temple on the mountain is very historic but still well maintained. It makes visitors feel the endurance of the mountains in the past. Walking into the sacred forest 5 minutes away from the parking lot on the mountain, it is quiet and solemn. There are also several observation decks on the mountain that overlook the towns in the Keihan area.
