Hierapolis, the city of the dead in Turkey🏰

We arrived at Hierapolis, excavated in Pamukkale, Denizli, in southwestern Turkey. Hierapolis, meaning "sacred city," is where the ancient Roman rulers spent their final days bathing in its hot springs. Its well-developed cemetery earned it the name "City of the Dead." As we walked, ancient ruins dating back thousands of years were strewn about, with countless tombs and steles reflecting the passage of time.
