In July, we spent a long weekend at the InterContinental Pattaya Resort. Arriving at 10:00 AM, though not a primary IHG member, we booked a Suite directly for the Executive Club Lounge access, elevating the luxurious experience. It was our first stay post-rebranding; previous stays were when it was a Sheraton. Arriving at the main lobby before check-in time, we consciously avoided the busy breakfast hour to respect the hotel's flow.In the lobby, we met Khun Tongkamol, the GM, whose Starwood experience (now Marriott) was evident. Despite our room being unready, the Front Desk let us wait at the Executive Lounge. Breakfast, surprisingly running until 11:00 AM, was offered with warmth by Khun Fai from the Club Lounge. Her intuitive service and professionalism left a memorable impression. When Khun Tongkamol visited us, her genuine engagement enhanced our breakfast experience.Khun Tongkamol later shared dining tips and local insights, showing her industry connections. She even offered a special tom yum wonton soup, which was delightful. Our conversation revealed our usual hotel loyalty to Marriott, which she astutely picked up on from a subtle detail.The stay was full of attentive service. When our room was ready, we found a birthday gesture despite a schedule change—showing the staff's thoughtfulness. Our Junior Suite featured a comfortable bed and sleek Byredo amenities in hygienic dispensers, fitting the hotel's sustainable practice of offering items on request to reduce waste, aligning with global trends.The lack of welcome fruit in the room was notable, as many luxury hotels now focus on minimizing food waste by offering a single fruit type. A simple fruit option could enhance the welcome experience, balancing sustainability and guest care.Afternoon Tea at the Club Lounge offered tranquility by the waterfall, with delicious pastries. Dinner at Infiniti Restaurant had a scenic start but moved indoors due to rain. The personal visit by Khun Tongkamol and her management team during dinner highlighted a dedicated guest connection.Evening cocktails in the Lounge featured a real bartender, offering an exclusive experience. Khun Daranee and Nong Aomsin's knowledge and bartending excellence were apparent. The cocktails stood out among our global experiences for their quality.Breakfast at the Club Lounge was exceptional, with dishes like a crab omelet and sparkling wine. We checked the main breakfast buffet at Elements Restaurant, appreciating the view and fresh-squeezed orange juice—a luxury touch.Before leaving, a surprise birthday celebration by Khun Por, Khun Orn, and Khun Nang added a joyful note. The resort's design—a blend of Thai elements and natural materials—created a comfortable ambiance. On-site EV charging was a convenience.Overall, this wasn't just a vacation—it was a distinguished hospitality experience, with every team member's genuine care and attention. Khun Tongkamol's leadership style—elegant and engaging—shaped the refined service we enjoyed during our stay.Lastly, kudos to the housekeeping team for thoughtful turndown amenities and the immaculate room condition. And thank you to Khun View from Reservations for her patient assistance with our adjustments—a memorable stay indeed.
