I’ve dined here before, but this was my first time staying at the InterContinental Pattaya Resort. Let me preface this by saying that this review focuses heavily—if not entirely—on food photos 🤣. If you’re looking for a review of the rooms or facilities, I must warn you that this is all about the food. Each photo comes with a description, just in case anyone shares the same culinary interests as my family 🤣.
Here’s a summary of my experience:
1. For this stay, we booked the entry-level Classic Deluxe Garden room. The room is spacious, over 40 sqm. Since we were staying as two adults and two kids, the hotel set up a room with two beds: a King (6 feet) and a Queen (5 feet). It was fantastic and very comfortable, though my youngest still managed to roll off the bed 🤣. The beds are cozy, and you can request extra pillows. If you’re in a building with an elevator, it connects directly to the covered parking area.
You can request additional bottled water anytime; they provide Crystal brand in glass bottles. Towels can also be requested for the kids, but the towels are a bit old, with a slightly dull white color. The bathroom has strong water pressure at all points and includes a bidet spray. The soap and shampoo smell great, but the showerhead in the bathroom is positioned quite high, even at its lowest setting, making it a bit challenging to bathe the kids.
The wardrobe is spacious with plenty of hangers, one umbrella, bathrobes, and slippers. You can request additional items for the kids, but they only have adult sizes. There’s a small amenities set, including toothbrushes and shower caps, provided according to the number of guests.
Housekeeping provides a turn-down service every evening, tidying up the room and making the beds without needing to be asked.
2. For dining, we only used the "Infinity Restaurant," which serves breakfast and all-day dining. As mentioned earlier, I was impressed with the breakfast. I recommend taking your time here. Breakfast starts at 6:30 AM, but seating is somewhat limited. There are both indoor and outdoor seating options. If you enjoy a sea view, sit outside, but it’s quite hot this time of year. In front of the restaurant, there’s a small alcohol station for those nursing a hangover and a little play area for kids to toss rings and decorate snacks. It’s delightful! However, the breakfast line lacks a dedicated kids’ corner or kid-friendly menu like some other hotels. Also, it’s a pity there’s no ice cream for breakfast.
3. The resort has three swimming pools, but none with slides. The pools are designed for quiet relaxation. The pool towels are impressively large and seem newer than the ones in the rooms 🤣. At the pool, they serve cold bottled water in plastic bottles for guests.
4. We didn’t use the spa or fitness facilities.
5. The beachfront area isn’t very spacious. The beach is mainly for strolling and taking photos. At night, there are small, beautifully lit decorations for photo opportunities. This hotel doesn’t really have a beach area for swimming. Occasionally, during low tide, there might be a small area to walk on the sand and take some pictures. You can request flip-flops if needed.
6. The Kids’ Club has an indoor area with good air conditioning and drinking water but no attached bathroom. The outdoor area includes a small soccer zone and climbing/sliding equipment. Personally, I think the space is a bit small. If more than 10 kids are using it, the room would feel cramped. Since we stayed on a weekday, our kids had the place to themselves. It’s open from 9 AM to 5 PM. The activity schedule might not be updated, so it’s best to check with the staff in advance to plan accordingly.
7. The staff are friendly and always greet you with a smile.
