At -154 meters above sea level, it is the lowest depression in China and one of the world's major depressions. Due to constant evaporation, much of the lake surface has become a deep salt layer.

Aydingkol Lake, also known as Jueluohuan, has a water surface of -155 meters above sea level, making it the lowest lake in my country. Aydingkol Lake, meaning "Moonlight Lake" in Uyghur, gets its name from the beautiful, moon-like clarity of its waters.
