Wat Ratchaburana, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province🛕✨

I had the opportunity to visit Wat Ratchaburana, which is one of the most beautiful and ancient temples in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province. Both Thais and foreigners like to visit the beauty of this temple in large numbers. This temple also has a history of stories about treasures and treasures, making it another one of the historical temples of Ayutthaya. In addition to having a long history, the beauty of the temple is not inferior to any other temple in Ayutthaya. 🤩

History of Wat Ratchaburana
Wat Ratchaburana is located in Tha Wasukri Subdistrict, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya District, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province. It is one of the largest and oldest temples in Ayutthaya. It was built by King Borommarachathirat II or Chao Sam Phraya in 1967. Wat Ratchaburana was once attacked by a group of thieves who dug into the crypt inside the main prang in 1956 and stole the treasures and escaped. Later, the Fine Arts Department renovated and excavated, and found many remaining treasures and gold objects. Currently, they are kept in the Ratchaburana Room in the National Museum.

The prang of Wat Ratchaburana has a large and deep crypt. The Fine Arts Department completed the excavation in 1957. At present, the crypt is open for visitors to visit as usual. The crypt of Wat Ratchaburana's prang consists of 3 large rooms arranged vertically, with the lowest level at ground level as follows:

1st floor
This is the top floor. Originally, there were walls covering all the images (images of Chinese people, the assembly of gods, etc.). Behind the walls were small spaces filled with Buddha amulets and Buddha images. In them, the thieves found 3-4 golden Buddha images with a lap width of 1 sok.

2nd floor
This is the middle floor. There were 3 gold trays full of gold objects. The Fine Arts Department removed the floor, so rooms 2 and 3 of the crypt were connected. There were paintings depicting past lives of the Buddha, drawn in square spaces. Around them, there were small bronze tables in every niche except the one below. They were used to place gold objects and gold cloth, which the thief said would be ground into powder just by touching.

3rd floor
This is the innermost room and the most important room. It contains the relics of the Lord Buddha. Which is well preserved in the golden pagoda and around it are also full of various Buddha images.
