Wat Chaiwatthanaram is an ancient temple built for more than 300 years. It is an old temple in the late Ayutthaya period in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province. It is located on the banks of the Chao Phraya River. It is considered another important place in Ayutthaya. It is a place for royal merit-making for every king after the reign of King Prasat Thong. It is also the place where many royal family members were cremated.

Wat Chaiwatthanaram is currently part of the Ayutthaya Historical Park, which was registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1991.

Parking is a bit hard to find. But if you rent a costume from the shop, it starts at 200 baht, you get free parking, and the entrance fee is 10 baht per Thai person. Tourists like to rent costumes for taking photos.
