Ayutthaya, Thailand, is the most glorious dynasty in Thai history and the center of Thai Buddhism. Wat Chaiwatthanaram is a famous Buddhist temple located in Ayutthaya. It was built in 1630 and was the royal temple of the Ayutthaya Kingdom at that time.
Wat Chaiwatthanaram is famous for its towering pagodas and exquisite Buddha statues. The center of the temple is a tall pagoda, which originally had a golden Buddha statue on the top. The pagoda is surrounded by 120 seated Buddhas, each of which is exquisite, but after the invasion, only the damaged Buddha statues are left.
The architectural style of Wat Chaiwatthanaram is a combination of Thai, Khmer and Indian styles. The pagodas of the temple are in Khmer style, while the seated Buddhas are in Thai style. The architectural decoration of the temple is in Indian style.
Wat Chaiwatthanaram is an important cultural heritage of Thailand and an important symbol of Thai Buddhism.
