Wat Phra Si Sanphet, which I visited on a solo trip to Ayutthaya, was a wonderful and memorable experience😊
It is an important temple during the Ayutthaya Dynasty, and the view of the Sri Lankan-style pagodas where the remains of three kings are lined up is overwhelming. Especially when it is lit up after sunset, it creates a fantastic atmosphere and makes you feel as if you are drawn to the place beyond time.
This temple was built in 1448 and was used as a chapel exclusively for the king, so it was a prestigious place. Even today, the magnificent pagoda and the architecture of the time remain, and I felt its value as a historical heritage. In particular, I was impressed by the calm atmosphere that spread despite the traces of war, such as the Buddha statue with its head cut off.
I was able to spend a quiet time while feeling the history of Ayutthaya, and it was a very fulfilling time. As a World Heritage Site, I think it's a place worth visiting even in the ancient city of Ayutthaya✨
