Visit Wat Mae Nang Plueum, Ayutthaya, and see the beautiful ancient sites and the back.

When talking about Ayutthaya, many people think of ancient temples and historical sites with their unique charm. One must-see temple is Wat Mae Nang Plueum, an ancient temple on the banks of Khlong Nuea Canal in Khlong Srabue Subdistrict. This temple is steeped in history and a legacy of long-held faith.

The Story of “Mae Nang Plueum”

The name of this temple comes from a legend that tells of “Mae Nang Plueum,” a compassionate village woman who assisted King Naresuan the Great while he was sailing through a boat on a rainy day. Her kindness earned her a legendary name, and the temple is now known as “Wat Mae Nang Plueum.”
