Wat Phra Ngam, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province

The Gate of Time: This temple gate, which is covered with vines, appears to have roots from a large Bodhi tree, a sacred tree in Buddhism, at least 100 years old.

It was originally named Wat Charam, and is located off the island of Ayutthaya. No documentary evidence exists as to when it was built. Archaeological excavations reveal that Wat Phra Ngam has a layout popular in the early Ayutthaya period, facing east. The temple's boundary is defined by a surrounding moat on all sides. The main chedi in front of the chapel, believed to have been adapted from a round chedi vihara, sits on a square base superimposed on an octagonal base. The chapel is a raised structure with a surrounding base, and there are traces of construction over the original building. Excavations and excavations have uncovered numerous artifacts, including terracotta and stucco architecture, roof tiles, and stucco-patterned roofs depicting nagas, angels, deities, and Chinese nails. The lap of the principal Buddha image, a bronze Buddha image in the meditation posture, was also discovered. The chapel at Wat Phra Ngam is a rectangular structure measuring 15 meters wide and 34 meters long, with two entrances at the front and back, each on each side. A pedestal for enshrining the Buddha image is located on the west side of the building. And traces of restoration have been discovered many times. The interesting thing about this temple is the Gate of Time, the temple gate that shows the roots of a large Bodhi tree, a sacred tree in Buddhism, at least 100 years old, creeping and covering the arch. The trunk grows higher and higher, resembling a large dome. Tourists like to come to watch the sunset through the Gate of Time. #Get a discount without relying on luck #Ayutthaya temple #Ayutthaya #Thai temple
