I was once a conqueror of Phu Kradueng. ⛰️⛺️

When it comes to mountains in Thailand known for their "toughness but incredible rewards," Phu Kradueng is the first name that comes to mind. ⛰️
Located in Phu Kradueng National Park in Loei Province, the highest point is approximately 1,316 meters above sea level, and the ascent trail stretches approximately 8.7 kilometers from the base to the wide open area above.

Many people ask, "Is Phu Kradueng difficult to hike?"
The answer is... difficult, but not overwhelming. ❤️

The trail is divided into two main sections:
1️⃣ The flat, alternatingly steep section (kilometers 1–4) — This is the initial stage, with a mix of dirt, rocks, and slopes. Take your time and don't rush.
2️⃣ The steep, ascending section (kilometers 5–8) — features checkpoints with cool names like "Sam Haek," "Sam Kok Ko," "Sam Kok Don," and "Sam Kok Wa." Each section has a drink and snack stand to rest your energy. 🍵

The average person takes about 4–6 hours to complete the hike, depending on their physical condition.
For those thinking this will be a light hike, I'd like to say, "Brace yourself!" 😆
There will be steep slopes, slippery soil, and intense midday sun — but what you'll gain is breathtaking views and the pride of conquering.

Once you reach the top, the mountain transforms from a steep forest into a vast expanse of grasslands, pine trees, and cool weather almost year-round. 🌿
If you go during the late rainy season and early winter (October–December), you'll witness a sea of mist in the morning and the sunset at "Pha Lom Sak," a legendary landmark. 🌅

Here's what I recommend:
• Prepare your body before ascending (run/walk a little each day).
• Bring water and a cold towel.
• Your luggage weight is your number one enemy. 🧳
• And most importantly: don't forget your "heart," because it will definitely take you to the top. 💪

Phu Kradueng may not be an easy mountain to climb, but it's a mountain that teaches you that every tiring step is worth it when you stand and gaze at the view from the top for yourself. 🌤️
