Mai Khao Beach (Plane Spotting)

If you’ve ever dreamed of watching planes land just meters above your head, this is the place! Mai Khao Beach is near Phuket Airport, and I timed my visit with afternoon landings. The sound and rush of the jets flying low over the ocean was absolutely thrilling. The beach itself is long and clean, great for walks and photos. It’s such a unique summer experience—part aviation geek fantasy, part tropical beach day.
