The back mountain of Qingcheng is the answer hidden around the city—dense forests like giant umbrellas, babbling streams flowing over green stones, cicadas and birdsong weaving a natural soundtrack. Walking on the shaded boardwalk feels like stepping into a real-life fantasy world.

As a “regular visitor” who has been to the back mountain 6 times, I have compiled this super practical hiking guide. It not only marks clear routes but also specially selects 2 spots with excellent views, so you can effortlessly take in the charming scenery of Qingcheng Back Mountain!

【Qingcheng Back Mountain · Core Hiking Information】

- Navigation Start Point: Taian Ancient Town (After taking the high-speed train from Chengdu to Qingchengshan Station, transfer to the scenic area shuttle bus or take a taxi to reach, very convenient transportation)
- Recommended Hiking Routes
1. Small Loop (Best for Easygoing Hikers): Taian Ancient Town → Wulong Valley → Longyin Boardwalk → Youyi Village → Jinli Cableway Down → Taian Ancient Town (About 3-4 hours total, low difficulty, with streams and dense shade along the way, suitable for families or beginners)
2. Medium Loop (Balanced Experience): Taian Ancient Town → Feiquan Valley → Baiyun Ancient Village → Baiyun Cableway Down → Wulong Valley → Taian Ancient Town (Check out the waterfall in Feiquan Valley and the rustic Baiyun Ancient Village, about 4-5 hours, suitable for those with moderate stamina)
3. Large Loop (Deep Hiking): Taian Ancient Town → Wulong Valley → Longyin Boardwalk → Youyi Village → Baiyun Temple → Cuiying Lake → Feiquan Valley → Taian Ancient Town (About 6-7 hours total, immersive experience of the entire back mountain, suitable for hikers with some experience)
Newcomer Advice
Beginners or those wanting to take photos should choose the small loop, about 2-3 hours round trip.
The section from Wulong Valley to Longyin Boardwalk is in a canyon with various waterfalls and misty rain, very poetic and cool! The scenery afterward is average and quite sunny. Hiking enthusiasts can do the full route, about 7 hours.
Qingcheng Back Mountain
Entrance Fee: 20 RMB/person, Cableway: 30 RMB/person

High-speed Rail: Chengdu Xipu Station to Qingchengshan Station (30 minutes). After arrival, transfer to a tourist bus to the back mountain, directly to Taian Ancient Town.
Self-driving: About 1 hour from Chengdu.

【Crystal Cave Waterfall】
Navigation: Xun Yu Xun Su Hot Spring Hotel
On the return from Wulong Valley, you can climb this waterfall. Start hiking from the tourist bus parking lot in Taian Ancient Town. At the fork, take the left path, about 3 KM round trip, 20 minutes to reach the big waterfall.
The entire rock wall is covered with moss, and the waterfall cascades down beautifully!
