🙏 Ma Zhao Po, or Ma Zhao, is the Queen of Heaven and Goddess of the Sea, who is worshipped by Hokkien and Teochew Chinese before embarking on journeys and after emigrating to foreign lands to seek guidance and success. ✨️

🧏♀️ Thais often mistake Ma Zhao Po for the Goddess of Pomegranate, but she is actually Jui Bui Nia, the Hainanese goddess of navigation. Ma Zhao has many names, including Tian Shang Sheng Mu and Ma Zhao, which refer to respected female ancestors. 📅 Every year, on the 23rd day of the third lunar month (Jie Yid) is Ma Zhao's birthday, and events are held at many shrines.
