Phuket Museum: The Starting Point for Educational Tourism in Phuket
Phuket Museum is a collaborative effort between Museum Siam and Phuket City Municipality. This space serves as a learning resource for both Phuket residents and visitors, offering a chance to learn about Phuket's history and culture through creative exhibitions and modern technology.
The museum is divided into two main exhibitions:
🟠 PHUKETNAGARA presents the story of Phuket, from its heyday as a mining town to its transformation into a world-class tourist destination, presented through seven vibrant exhibition zones.
🔵 PERANAKANNITAT explores the roots and meaning of the word "Peranakan" and explores the origins of the Peranakan people in Phuket through five educational and insightful exhibition rooms.
Located in Phuket Old Town, the museum is renowned for its beautiful Sino-Portuguese architecture and rich content that deepens our understanding of Phuket. It doesn't take long to visit—about an hour is all it takes to see.
Important: Admission is free! It's a great base before exploring the old town.
