Patong Beach - Meh? 😕

I know I threw a bit of shade on Patong Beach in the previous post, but sometimes a little shade goes a long way in the tropics right?😉

Patong beach is great, I have nothing against it. In fact, the way the road meets the beach lined in glorious palm trees is breathtaking not only on a sunny day, but at night and when it’s gloomy too.

The area is filled with hotels, resorts, bars, people. This is definitely not where you go for an “authentic Thailand experience”, it’s a place to have fun, party, go speedboating, parasailing and indulge in other activities of the sort.

If you are looking to slow down, meditate, feel close to nature, this isn’t the area for that kind of getaway. The close proximity of OTOP market and Bangla road liven this space up and there’s no way around it. Actually, there is. I highly recommend Homm Bliss hotel which is on the quieter end of the beach. The beachfront view you get is stunning and you’d be situated right next to a 7/11 to stock up on whatever you need.

Patong beach is beautiful. It has its own vibe and personality and I would never suggest you skip the experience altogether. It’s one of those places you check out regardless of what you’re into when you visit Phuket. Why not give it a try and tell me how you liked it?💁🏽‍♀️
