On the first day in Pingtan, I stayed at this hidden cliffside homestay, and the joy of opening the window to see the sea is something only a few can understand! 🌊 Hidden Sea is truly a divine location on Pingtan’s southern route. When the tide goes out, it’s just a 1-minute walk to the beach, and every photo looks like a masterpiece!
📍【Prime Location】
Dianjiaodi Village is absolutely perfect! Far from the city noise, you get an unobstructed 180° sea view right from your window, and you can watch the sunrise 🌅 while lying in bed. The best part is the beach is only a 1-minute walk away (remember to check the tide times). It’s super convenient for kids to dig in the sand and explore the sea, with fewer people and more beautiful scenery than popular beaches~
💁【Service Taken to a New Level】
From check-in, I was spoiled rotten! The host sends travel guides in advance, the room is stocked with free drinks and snacks, and the staff even carried my luggage all the way up to the room (so touching)! The biggest surprise was the complimentary travel photography service 📸. The photographer takes you to the beach for stunning silhouette shots, perfect for your social media grid👌
🛏️【Room Details for Enthusiasts】
We stayed in a family room with a slide and ball pit, and the kids didn’t want to leave! The room was spotless, feeling brand new every day. My favorite was the bathtub facing the sea 🛁—bathing while watching the sunset was pure romance. Also, the projector and screen are a dream for binge-watchers!
📸【Photo Spot Checklist】
• Cliffside infinity pool: The light is softest at 4 PM; bright swimsuits look great on camera
• Moon swing on the beach: Turn right on the beach at low tide to find it; perfect for sunset silhouette shots
• Floor-to-ceiling windows in the room: Backlit sunrise shots with the sea and sky as the backdrop
• Rooftop terrace: Great for night shots of stars and fishing lights; don’t forget your tripod
🍜【Nearby Food & Fun Guide】
• A 5-minute walk to local food stalls; highly recommend the local specialty “Shi Lai Yun Zhuan” (Salty Rice Shi)
• Rent an electric scooter and ride 15 minutes to Tannan Bay, famous for its blue tears viewing spot
• Host’s secret tip: Walk 200 meters east at low tide to a lesser-known rocky area where you can find lots of sea conches
⚠️【Tips】
• Renting a car is recommended! Although the homestay offers pick-up and drop-off, Pingtan’s attractions are spread out
• Use sunscreen with SPF 50+! The UV rays by the sea are intense
• April to June is peak season for blue tears, but rooms book up fast, so reserve early
• The slide in the family room is quite steep; young children need adult supervision
I was truly moved by Hidden Sea’s attention to detail—how can a homestay even provide baby-safe mosquito repellent! If you want a healing getaway with fewer crowds and beautiful scenery, this place is a no-brainer~
