🏯 "Stone pagodas stand in rows, and a thousand-year-old epic whispers in the wind."

The Prambanan Temple Compounds, located on the eastern outskirts of Yogyakarta, Indonesia, are one of Southeast Asia's most spectacular Hindu temple complexes. Built in the 9th century, they are a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Originally comprising approximately 240 temples, the complex now boasts three well-preserved core temples: the 47-meter-tall Shiva Temple, the Vishnu Temple, and the Brahma Temple, representing the three main Hindu deities. The temples' exteriors are intricately carved, meticulously depicting stories from the epic Ramayana, creating a magnificent and sacred scene. At dusk, the spires silhouetted against the setting sun create a stunning photo op. At night, visitors can enjoy the Ramayana dance performance adjacent to the complex, recreating ancient legends through dance and music. It's a wonderful way to experience Indonesian culture and religious spirit.
