Mount Kailash: The Sacred Mountain of Tibet and the Center of the World

Mount Kailash is the most important sacred mountain in the Tibetan region. Shaped like a pyramid, its peak is perpetually covered with snow and glaciers. Nearby lies Lake Manasarovar, often referred to as the sacred lake. Believers regard Mount Kailash as the center of the world, attracting tens of thousands of visitors from around the globe each year. Pilgrims circumambulate the mountain, believing that this act cleanses sins, accumulates merit, and purifies the soul.

This time, the weather was perfect, allowing for a clear view of the entire Mount Kailash. The scenery was breathtaking under a cloudless sky. At the foot of the mountain, there is a small village with a coffee shop, supermarket, and post office where visitors can buy postcards, souvenirs, and supplies.
