On a business trip to Qingdao, this is the only hotel I've stayed at three times!

Staying in the 6k-per-night Caroline Ocean View Suite was an amazing experience.

🏘️ Room Type/Layout: 10/10
The 135 sqm Caroline Ocean View Suite is the third-largest room type, just after the Ambassador and Metropolis Ocean View Suites. The south-facing room offers unobstructed ocean views from both the living area and bedroom. The color scheme is harmonious, the layout is well-planned, and maintenance is excellent.

🛌 Amenities/Facilities: 5/10
The highlight is the high-altitude pool, but it gets crowded with kids during peak seasons—best used around meal times.

💰 Cost Per Person: 7/10
Off-season rates start at 2,500+ for base rooms, even pricier than Shanghai's Pudong Ritz-Carlton. The St. Regis Qingdao needs to up its game to justify these rates.

💗 Other Tips:

- Public Areas: 9/10
Most spaces offer direct ocean views, outshining competitors like Diaoyutai and MGM—a key reason for its premium pricing.
- Location: 8/10
Steps from Third Beach and close to landmarks like May Fourth Square and Taipingjiao Park, ideal for jogging or city walks. Dining options nearby are limited though.
- Breakfast/Executive Lounge: 9/10
Breakfast on the L-floor features full ocean-view seating. Highlights include strawberry Danishes, ham, and tasty wontons.

Verdict: Top-tier hardware but service could improve. Hype may exceed reality. Best suited for families or leisure trips.
