Friends! Who can relate? During my three days and two nights at Mount Jiuhua, I felt like I was blessed by Buddha himself! From the moment I set foot on Mount Jiuhua, it was as if someone had pressed my mute button, and all my troubles instantly vanished! Today, I'm offering you this personally tested, foolproof spiritual travel guide that guarantees you'll experience it like a local!
🌟【DAY 1: First Encounter with Jiuhua, a Ceremony of Buddha's Radiance】
In the morning, head straight to the center of Jiuhua Street! The incense at the Flesh Body Palace was so intense it brought tears to my eyes—Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva's golden body right before me, devotees prostrating every three steps with such devotion that even the air seemed to echo with sutras. The nearby Huacheng Temple is even more amazing! Under the upturned eaves of this thousand-year-old temple, every corner is worthy of a National Geographic photo!
For lunch, you must indulge in vegetarian cuisine! The vegetarian chicken on Jiuhua Street is absolutely divine! The bean flavor is so rich it made me question reality—is this really vegetarian? In the afternoon, climb to Baisuigong Palace, a cliff-side palace housing the preserved body of a 126-year-old Ming Dynasty monk. Standing on the viewing platform overlooking the sea of clouds, I suddenly understood the meaning of "all things are empty."
Staying overnight at a Zen hotel in the scenic area was incredible! Falling asleep to Buddhist chants, even my dreams had a special Buddha's light effect~ I recommend choosing a hotel near Jiuhua Street so you don't have to wake up early the next day!
🌈【DAY 2: Walking in the Clouds, Unlocking Heavenly Views】
Rush to Tiantai Peak at 6 AM! When you reach the summit at 1,342 meters, clouds roll beneath your feet, and the distant Guanyin Peak appears like a Buddhist kingdom floating in the air. I especially recommend the strange rock formations in the Huatai scenic area! The Elephant Rock and Eagle Rock are all naturally formed—every photo looks like a scene from "Journey to the West"!
At noon, munching on wild vegetable cakes at the mountaintop restaurant, I was suddenly struck by the soul-touching chanting of monks~ In the afternoon, I returned to Jiuhua Street for a meditation class. While meditating with the master, my 20-year office worker's neck problems miraculously healed! (Friendly reminder: book meditation classes in advance!)
🍃【DAY 3: Farewell Journey, Taking Blessings Home】
On the last day, you must go to Ganlu Temple to drink morning dew tea! Under the thousand-year-old ginkgo tree at Dongya Zen Temple, I happened to meet a monk sweeping who gave me a blessed bracelet~ Before leaving, I went on a shopping spree for souvenirs on Jiuhua Street: choose small-leaf red sandalwood for prayer beads, and I recommend "Buddha's Light" brand vegetarian cookies—they were snatched up immediately when I brought them back to the office!
💡【Practical Tips from My 3-Day Journey】
✅ Transportation: Nanjing/Hefei high-speed rail + scenic area bus is most convenient; if driving, beware of winding mountain roads
✅ Tickets: 160 yuan all-inclusive ticket covers all temples; check where your Buddhist certificate was issued
✅ Cable car: Must ride the Baisuigong cable car! The Huatai cable car is worth every penny
✅ Accommodation: Highly recommend Zen homestays near Qiyuan Temple, listen to bell sounds at night and observe the mist in the morning
✅ Outfit: Sneakers + windproof jacket! The temperature difference between morning and evening in May is dramatic
The most magical thing about this journey—I originally went to post on social media, but ended up with a phone gallery full of scenery and not a single selfie! Perhaps this is the magic of Mount Jiuhua: when you truly enter its realm, you forget all about posing and showing off, leaving only the purest emotions. What are you waiting for? This holiday, let Mount Jiuhua heal your spiritual exhaustion!
