🏛️ Key Recommendation: People come to Qufu, especially with children, mainly to pay homage to Confucius. Many rush away after visiting the Kong Family Mansion and the Confucius Temple, but they forget an important place - The Confucius Museum.
🌈 Attraction Features: The Confucius Museum mainly exhibits the thoughts of Confucius, rather than any precious collections. Therefore, it is necessary to do some homework before coming, at least to have some understanding of Confucius's words, actions, and stories, such as 'the thread breaks three times while weaving' or 'tyranny is more fierce than tigers'. Alternatively, hire a guide. Otherwise, you might find the visit dull.
🕐️ Opening Hours: Tuesday to Sunday 9:00—17:00
🚗 Transportation Tips: The Confucius Museum is located to the south of Qufu city, a bit far from the Kong Family Mansion and the Confucius Temple. You can take a bus, taxi, or bicycle, but electric bikes are recommended. It's very convenient for an adult to ride an electric bike with a child, saving both time and money.
💗 Other Tips: 1. The courtyard is large, after entering the main gate, go left, and after seeing the security guard, go up to the second-floor platform to see the entrance. There are no signs, so ask people frequently to avoid taking a wrong turn. 2. There is a statue of Confucius on the second-floor platform, it's best to take photos upon entry, as it's hard to muster the energy to go back up to the second-floor platform after leaving, when you're tired, hungry, and hot.
