Rhodes, a beautiful island hidden in Greece 🇬🇷

Rhodes, located a one-hour ferry ride from Fethiye, Turkey,
is the largest island in the Dodecanese archipelago of Greece. Due to its proximity to the Turkish coast, it historically served as a gateway for trade between Greece and the East and West.

Rhodes is steeped in history. It was once home to the Colossus of Rhodes, one of the wonders of the ancient world (though it no longer exists).
During the Middle Ages, the Knights of St. John occupied the island and built a fortress and fortified city.
The medieval city still remains today, making it a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
