🏛️Travel through the Middle Ages! Explore the Knights' Hospital

✨A quick trip back in time
The Archaeological Museum of Rhodes was formerly a 15th-century knightly hospital!
Built by the Knights of St. John from 1440 to 1489, it was originally used to treat the sick. During the Ottoman era, it became a military barracks. Italians later transformed it into a museum.

It houses artifacts from the Geometric Age to the Roman period. Even the building itself is a living fossil!

The museum houses the Paros marble sculpture "Aphrodite of Rhodes." The goddess's crouching pose embodies the pinnacle of ancient Greek aesthetics.

The "Hanging Gardens" of the Knights' Hospital were once a place for Crusaders to recuperate. Today, they are littered with Roman catapult shells, silently recounting the medieval siege. The atrium still retains medieval shells and knights' tombstones, creating a sense of passage through time.
