Rome Day-1: From the Artistic and Divine City of Vatican to the Pantheon

The first day began at the Vatican Museum. Thanks to an early morning reservation, I was able to explore the museum at a relatively relaxed pace. Stepping into the Sistine Chapel, adorned with Michelangelo's 'Creation of Adam,' was a breathtaking moment. Though the museum is filled with countless masterpieces, walking quietly and taking in each piece one by one felt like a meditative experience.

St. Peter's Basilica is a place where the term 'cathedral' feels insufficient. Its endlessly high ceilings and the sunlight streaming into the interior create an overwhelming atmosphere. Standing in front of Michelangelo's Pietà, I found myself lost in thought for quite some time. Regardless of one's religious beliefs, this space has the power to move anyone.

After lunch, I headed to Rome's city center and visited Piazza Navona. Centered around Bernini's 'Fountain of the Four Rivers,' the square was alive with street musicians, portrait artists, and people enjoying coffee under the sun. The leisurely vibe of Rome was palpable.

A short walk from the square brought me to the Pantheon. As a masterpiece of ancient architecture, it's astonishing that this 2,000-year-old building still has its original dome intact. The natural light streaming through the central oculus made the interior feel sacred. It was the most awe-inspiring moment of the day.

From Day-1, I was completely captivated by Rome's charm. A city where history, art, faith, and everyday emotions blend seamlessly. I can't wait for the days ahead.
