Worthwhile Italy trip

Today began at the Colosseum. Standing before the massive amphitheater, I could almost feel the breath of gladiators from 2,000 years ago. The intricate and overwhelming interior structure left me staring in awe for quite some time.
Next, I moved to the Roman Forum near the Colosseum. This place was once the political and commercial hub of the Roman Empire. Though it looks like ruins now, the remaining temples and arches scattered around allow you to imagine the prosperity of that era.
The Trajan's Column stood out with its detailed reliefs, and the Altar of the Fatherland was both massive in scale and dazzling with its white marble. The war chariot statue atop it was truly a spectacular sight.
Finally, I ended the day at the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore. As one of the four major basilicas of Rome, its mosaics on the ceiling and floor were pure works of art.
It was a day where I could fully immerse myself in the glory of ancient Rome and the legacy of its faith.
