Moonlight Mountain Residence uses traditional Dong ethnic wooden structure architecture, and the all-wood design makes you feel like you've traveled back to an ancient Dong village. Each room faces the river or backs onto a bamboo forest, and the most stunning feature is the smart air conditioning system in the room, making it warm and comfortable even in the mountains.
🛏️ Room Experience:
The river-facing room I stayed in was simply amazing! The extra-large floor-to-ceiling windows framed the stream and bamboo forest like a painting. Falling asleep to the sound of frogs at night and waking up to birdsong in the morning—this kind of natural experience is impossible to find in the city. The bedding and toiletries were high-end, especially the bathroom, which met five-star standards and was a delightful surprise.
🍜 Dining Experience:
The restaurant in the guesthouse is definitely a hidden gem! The sour soup beef and braised fish are must-orders, with a sour and spicy flavor that whets the appetite and tender meat. The Dong ethnic specialty snacks for breakfast and afternoon tea were also impressive. The owner said they invited grandmas from the village to cook, and the authentic taste leaves a lasting impression.
🎭 Nearby Activities:
Staying here is never boring! The guesthouse arranges Dong village tours, rice field fishing, tie-dye experiences, and at night you can listen to Dong ethnic grand songs. My favorite was wandering around the village with the housekeeper, listening to stories about Dong history and legends—it made me feel like an explorer.
💁 Service Highlights:
The housekeeper team is all young people, enthusiastic and fun, responding to almost every request from check-in to check-out. When I wanted tea at night, the housekeeper immediately brought local specialty oil tea and even included a short lesson on Dong tea culture.
