If you haven't visited Huangguoshu Waterfall, you haven't been to Guizhou. Huangguoshu Waterfall, the world's third largest and Asia's largest waterfall, is a typical erosion-crack waterfall in the karst landform. It's located in Zhenning Buyi and Miao Autonomous County, Anshun City, Guizhou Province.
But don't think Huangguoshu is just one waterfall. With it as its core, a 20-kilometer stretch of river upstream and downstream boasts 18 waterfalls, each boasting a unique, majestic, dangerous, and beautiful scenery. This area boasts more than just waterfalls; it also boasts unique rocks, unusual trees, caves, and gardens. Surrounding the scenic area are charming Buyi villages. After exploring the area, find an authentic farmhouse and order some home-cooked dishes—the flavors are truly divine. Huangguoshu New Town: This refers to the area surrounding the Huangguoshu Ticket Center, which also houses accommodation and dining options.
The best time is July and August in summer, when the water is abundant and the scenery is magnificent. You won’t feel that way during the dry season.
Spring (March-May) and winter (December-February) are the dry seasons for Huangguoshu Waterfall, when the waterfall's flow slows, resembling a graceful young woman. During this time, wildflowers bloom in the surrounding mountains, and new buds sprout, making it a perfect time for flower viewing and scenic viewing. In autumn (September-November), the water level at Huangguoshu Waterfall is neither too high nor too low, making it less majestic and more beautiful.

The Water Curtain Cave, located directly in front of Huangguoshu Waterfall, resembles a long dragon lying behind the cascade. Visitors can reach out from behind the waterfall and touch the cascading water, a truly unique experience. The unique perspective of the cave, peering through the cascade and gazing at the surrounding scenery, is a truly remarkable and breathtaking feature of Huangguoshu Waterfall.
