Plönlein is arguably Rothenburg's most iconic image, a classic "fairytale town" in many people's minds. A narrow cobblestone street splits into two, one leading to the towering Siebersturm tower and the other to the Kobolzeller Tor city gate, creating a perfect visual composition. The yellow half-timbered house in the middle looks like a small house straight out of a fairytale illustration, warm and dreamy.

During the day, the area is often bustling with travelers from all over the world, eager to capture that iconic angle. Plönlein takes on a unique charm at dusk and night. When the lights come on, the town becomes quiet, and you can almost hear the whispers of history within its stone walls.
