It feels like you're driving along a simple snowy road—silence, pine forest, gray sky. And suddenly, an arch with the sign "Arctic Circle" appears in the snow. It's no longer just a road, but the boundary between ordinary life and a fairy tale.
In Rovaniemi, everything is done in true Finnish simplicity and beauty: wooden houses with garlands, the smell of cinnamon, the steam from the reindeer's breath, the ringing of bells. Every street is filled with light, music, and smiles. And in the center is Santa Claus's house. You can enter, talk to him, get a photo, and even send a postcard with a special Nordic stamp from a real post office.
📍 How to get there
The village is located just eight kilometers from Rovaniemi. Buses leave from the city center (approximately every half hour), and the journey takes 15-20 minutes. You can also get there by car—parking is right at the entrance.
🎅 What to see
— the Arctic Circle, cross it, and receive a certificate;
— Santa Claus's office, where he welcomes guests year-round;
— the post office, where letters with children's dreams arrive from all over the world;
— a reindeer farm and ice sculptures nearby.
☕ Tip
It's best to arrive in the morning—the light is especially soft, the snow sparkles, and there aren't many people yet. Bring gloves and a thermos of coffee: even at -20 degrees, it's cozy here.
