Who understands! Ruili is really great for shopping
🌴Family, I recently went to Ruili and was truly captivated by this border town full of exotic charm! I've put together a three-day, three-night travel guide, no more talk, here’s the essential info👇
📅Itinerary:
Day 1: Jiegao Port → China-Myanmar Street → One Village Two Countries → Ruili Ancient City
Morning: After arriving in Ruili, the first stop is Jiegao Port! Take photos at the solemn national gate, feel the unique border atmosphere, and browse the nearby duty-free shop for some great finds.
Noon: Head to China-Myanmar Street, where there are plenty of Burmese specialty foods. Find a small shop, order a Burmese milk tea and paratha, and start a culinary journey of exotic flavors.
Afternoon: Visit One Village Two Countries to experience the fascinating "one village, two countries" scenery. Take photos by the No. 71 boundary marker and try the "one swing, two countries" swing.
Evening: Go to Ruili Ancient City, stroll through the lively night market, try local snacks like Puluda and roasted pig skin, and watch an exciting intangible cultural heritage iron flower performance—the atmosphere is amazing.
Day 2: Moli Tropical Rainforest → Lone Tree Forest → Jiele Golden Pagoda
Morning: Enter Moli Tropical Rainforest, hike through the forest, explore Moli Waterfall, and breathe in the fresh air rich in negative oxygen ions, feeling like you’re in the Land of Oz.
Noon: At a nearby restaurant, enjoy Dai cuisine such as lemongrass grilled fish and bamboo tube rice, savoring nature’s gifts.
Afternoon: Visit Mangling Lone Tree Forest to see the magical giant banyan tree with aerial roots forming a forest—perfect for photos. Then head to Jiele Golden Pagoda to admire the largest golden pagoda cluster in Southeast Asia. In the morning mist or sunset, the pagodas shine brilliantly, breathtakingly beautiful.
Day 3: Wanting Border Culture Park → Nanyang Mechanical Workers Memorial Hall → Return Trip
Morning: Visit Wanting Border Culture Park with 13 themed exhibition halls to learn about the Expeditionary Army’s resistance, China-Myanmar folk customs, and more. The rich collection makes it a must-visit for history lovers.
Noon: Have a bowl of beef rice noodles in Wanting Town, add a hat, and let the delicious meal perfectly conclude your trip.
Afternoon: Go to the Nanyang Mechanical Workers Memorial Hall to remember the passionate history of the resistance and pay tribute to the heroes, then get ready to head back.
🍜Food Recommendations:
🍋Lemon Ghost Chicken: sour and spicy, instantly addictive.
🐟Lemongrass Grilled Fish: unique aroma, tender and juicy fish.
🥤Puluda: a must-try dessert, bread soaked in rich coconut milk, sweet but not greasy.
🍜Thin Bean Noodle Rice: perfect for breakfast, very satisfying.
🏠Accommodation Suggestions:
Recommended to stay in the city center for convenient travel and abundant nearby food options. Ruili Grand Hotel offers great value; for those who like unique homestays, Mengmao Ancient Town Inn is full of Dai-style charm.
🚗Transportation Guide:
Taxis in the city are very convenient, starting at 8 yuan. For nearby attractions, you can rent an electric scooter for about 50 yuan/day, flexible and free; or charter a car to share costs with friends and listen to the driver’s local stories.
📌Helpful Tips:
1. Always bring your ID card; many attractions and ports require security checks.
2. Prepare for sun protection and mosquito repellent as the sun is strong and there are many insects.
3. Be cautious when buying jade and other valuables; it’s easy to get scammed if you’re not knowledgeable.
4. Ruili’s sunsets are stunning—don’t miss the perfect photo opportunity.
Ruili is truly a treasure travel destination with its unique border charm, stunning natural scenery, and amazing food—you won’t want to leave once you arrive! Family, quickly save this guide and set off💕
