Introducing Yanlou Camp

Yanlou Camp is located in Yanlou Township, Qingyan County, Guiyang, approximately seven kilometers from Qingyan Ancient Town. Construction began in 1863 , the second year of the Tongzhi reign of the Qing Dynasty, and was completed in 1866. It was built by the Zhou family, residents of Yanlou. Because the camp is located on a hill that resembles a majestic bull, it is commonly known as Bull Village.

The mountain towers majestically, rising from the earth to the sky, creating a truly spectacular sight. From the foot of the mountain to the summit, a stone staircase over two meters wide leads to the camp, built on the mountaintop, following the slope. Constructed of bluestone blocks, it is surrounded by walls and features an archway on each side. The camp covers approximately six mu (approximately 6 mu). Portions of the walls have collapsed, and the original houses and other structures within the camp have long since been destroyed, though their foundations are still discernible.

A large rectangular pool, approximately six meters long, four meters wide, and three meters deep, stands on the mountaintop. Its walls are paved with bluestone, presumably used to store water. A central stone inscription reads " Heaven and Earth Create . " Two other horizontal inscriptions, " Zhongheying " and " Baoyingying, " respectively, read " Auspicious day of the sixth month of the fourth year of the Tongzhi reign " and " Established by Zhou Ying Gong ," and " Auspicious day of the twelfth month of the fourth year of the Tongzhi reign " and " Established by all surnames .
